BATTLEBIT EARLY ACCESS LAUNCH

Why BattleBit Has Been One of My Favorite Shooters in Recent Memory

BattleBit has been, hands down, the only first-person shooter I’ve genuinely loved playing in recent memory.
At first glance, it might look deceptively simple — with its low-poly, almost blocky visuals — but underneath, it’s a wild, chaotic, and incredibly fun shooter. Its lighthearted setting makes it hard to take anything too seriously, which honestly is a big reason why I’ve stuck with it.

There’s so much good-natured chaos happening at any given moment that it’s difficult to get frustrated the way I usually do in more “serious” shooters, where I’m busy trying to meta, min/max, or otherwise optimize the fun out of the game.

Laughs, Community, and Random Interactions

And I mean laughing — seriously.
The interactions I’ve had with random players, whether friendly or enemy, have led to some hilarious moments that few games ever manage to deliver.

Normally, I’d post a bunch of screenshots to show off some of these moments, but honestly, the true spirit of BattleBit is something that’s much better experienced firsthand.
(Shameless self-plug incoming, of course.)

Slight Nervousness About EA Launch

Praising the community during the free weekly playtests made me a little nervous.
With the game entering Early Access, there’s always the risk of the “riffraff” showing up — the types that could shift the vibe from wholesome chaos to something a bit more toxic.

I guess we’ll see what happens come Thursday’s EA launch. Fingers crossed the core spirit of the community survives!

Perfect for Friends, Beers, and 127v127 Madness

There is hardly a better game out there right now for grabbing a few buddies, cracking open a few beers, and jumping into a 127 vs. 127 server for some unforgettable laughs.

And if you do want to take things a bit more seriously?
The teamplay potential is actually incredible.
One of my favorite memories was spending an entire match with my group defending an island against a full-scale invasion. Helicopters were dropping in squads, enemies were landing boats on the shore — and the whole thing felt absolutely peak gaming, even as we laughed our way through it.

My Experience So Far

It’s been about a month or so since I played during the last free test.
In that time, I racked up 51 hours over 6 months — which, for me, is a lot.

I tried out a bunch of the different guns and classes. Overall, I found the SMGs a bit too powerful, but I really enjoyed the assault rifles and the variety of other weapons.
I’m not much of a sniper (I gave it a few frustrating tries), but every other playstyle felt rewarding and accessible.

With the full launch, progression resets on Thursday — so everyone will be starting fresh, which is exciting!

The Future Looks Bright

I can’t wait to see the new game modes roll out.
I’ve heard talk about several different modes being in the works, and the potential is tremendous.

If you’ve been on the fence, give BattleBit a try — seriously.
It might look a little dated and ugly, but once you start playing, you’ll realize it’s anything but.

Would you also like me to help you craft a short “recommendation” or “TL;DR” paragraph for readers who just skim, something like:

“BattleBit might look like a meme, but it plays like the best shooter fun you’ve had in years. 127v127 matches, hilarious community interactions, meaningful teamplay, and chaotic fun — don’t miss it.”
